Ah, now being a gentlemen of a certain age you know more than any young man how to do it properly. This is probably because you come from an age where chivalry was still alive! I would arrive home and produce a bunch of roses or her favorite flowers and a nice card explaining how much she means to you. Then, you could take her out to dinner at a nice restaurant and produce a nice bottle of perfume. Then, go home and put on an old record and dance to it. I guarantee you two will even share a crafty kiss! Good luck - I hope she realizes how special she is to have such a lovely gentleman like yourself.

What a wonderful thought Alfred . . . My wife appreciates the simple gestures, some flowers, a treat dinner out but if you want to do something special, then buy her a small item of jewellery and give it to her when you are out as an extra special surprise . . . . remind her how much you love her, tell her everything you want to tell her and hold hands when you come home.
My best wishes to you both.

ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
TWO. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.
THREE. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.
FOUR. When you say, "I love you," mean it.
FIVE. When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye.
SIX.. Be engaged at least six months before you get married.
SEVEN. Believe in love at first sight.
EIGHT. Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much.
NINE. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.
TEN. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.
ELEVEN. Don't judge people by their relatives.
TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly.
THIRTEEN. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?"
FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
FIFTEEN. Say "God bless you" when you hear someone sneeze.
SIXTEEN. When you lose, don't lose the lesson .
SEVENTEEN.Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.
EIGHTEEN. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
NINETEEN. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
TWENTY. Smile when picking up t he phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.
TWENTY-ONE. Spend some time alone.

You could renew your marriage vows. It's what me and my hubby did when I was going through cancer treatment when I was 34.We were going to wait, but there you go.
It's a great excuse to have a party, get some long lost relatives to come. But what me and my husband do every day is tell each other "I love you".And it's said from the heart.
You could follow your son's advice. But, it would be something very special if again you asked some friends or relatives your wife hasn't seen in years to come along too.
Best of luck Alfred.Your a sweet man.x

What a wonderful man you are. That is so lovely to hear.
You could take her for a meal and whilst you are out get your sun to light up candles. Put on her favorite music (maybe something that reminds you of when you fell in love) Have a buket of red roses. Give that to her and tell her what you just told us. I am sure she will love the romance and your way of saying thank you.
Good luck and all the best to the both of you

Aww that is so sweet! Take her out to do something you guys used to do when you first got together. Like go to the movies, a favorite diner, share a milkshake, etc. And buy her some flowers. Have a date night. The fact that you are asking shows how much you love her. God Bless You!

Alfred I think that is very sweet of you. I would suggest a love letter. But actually mail it to her. Tell her everything you feel about her and how much she means to you. I wish you both the very best.

Alfred,
You just said it! Just tell her exactly that. You don't need to take her out or buy her expensive gifts. Just be totallly honest with her and sharing your true feelings is the best thing any man can do for any woman. Good Luck and Take Care!!!

Well Alfred, if it was me, I'd love:
really special flowers, such as a beautiful orchid;
some special jewellery - not necessarily expensive, but really pretty (of the kind your wife wears - e.g. she may not wear rings or bracelets, but like necklaces);
a beautiful studio photo of the family - e.g. all the grandkids.
I hope this helps - all the best!
