'Zongshen' is basically an engine manufacturer. Many Chinese factories use 'Zong' engines. Quite a few Chinese companies just assemble parts, getting them from what ever source is the cheapest. These bikes generally are garbage. HOWEVER, not all Chinese scooters are really garbage, they are CHEAP. Meaning that most have a respectable engine (clones of Honda's GY6) that is quite reliable. Beyond that, the scooters are fitted with really low quality parts, like fuel hoses and vacuum lines that are best replaced. Other rubber fittings also are suspect. A great many Chinese scooters CAN be made into good little machines for very little money, for buying the scooter and the replacement parts to make it reliable. Still, you have a low end scooter, nothing like the big 4 out of Japan or European marks. But for about $1000... you can ride and have a lot of fun for a couple of years...
Oh, and parts are NO PROBLEM, google search and you will find a lot of sources... most dealers only sell stuff over the 'net' and don't carry about parts or any other kind of support, but that does not mean parts are 'rare' at all...

Its the biggest bike manufacturer in China. Currently according to my knowledge its also the biggest bike manufacturer in the world. After Zongshen its Hero Honda of India in second position in terms of volumes. It has large network of dealers in whole south east Asia excluding India. It mainly produces small capacity bikes in the range of 100-250cc as well as scooteretts.

isnt it odd; go back in time to the early 70's and isn't this what people said of jap bikes?
sooner rather than later, the chinese will get their act together and they'll turn the jap manufacturers into the same sized jokes the europeans and americans are now

I am very hesitant of buying any Chinese bikes. Personally I don't think it is worth the money you save over buying a Japanese bike.

these bikes are NOT a reliable machine. I agree that the price is good though, but look at what you are buying....
In motorcycles, you get what you pay for.

Search the web to see how unpopular they are.
You can't get parts for them and no one will work on it for that very reason.
