or even win it all?

This question is too early to answer but as of what I'm seeing, there is no jelling yet with the three superstars that they have. Rajon Rondo should emerge not only as a defense specialist but also a distributor on the offensive end. The 2 pts, 2 reb, 2 stl he had against TOR is not what you want in this team. Again, the question of who's-gonna-be-the-one on the bench always arises with the Celts. Eddie House is a proven instant offense, although most of the times very streaky, over his career and Posey can be a releiver for both KG and Pierce. Other than that, it's a ho-hum bench roster. And there is also the Lakers tragedy wherein they've got the Mailman and the Glove only succumbing to the eventual champion Detroit. The Big 3 (not to mention Posey, Pollard and House next year) are in their 30s already so health is definitely an issue.

To sum it up, Boston is a great team and is a household name for the Eastern Championships. The only X factor is health (obviously) and maturity (who can give the superstar ego and exchange it with a ring). If these two aspects are acheived, no doubt they can go all the way.

Fearless Forecast (sans injuries):
BOS def. CHI, 4-3, East Finals
PHO def. BOS 4-2, Finals

Yes, I think the Celtics will go far into the playoffs as long as the next "Big Three" stay healthy. But, I think this season is more of a chemistry thing than by winning it all. The team has yet to mesh completely, and one offseason training camp isn't enough to make champions out of the Celtics. The Celtics need playoff experience, and even though KG, PP and Rayray all have playoff experience, the team as a whole hasn't gone to the playoffs in quite a while. Then again, I wouldn't mind if the Celtics win it all. I love the Celtics! But I predict the Eastern Conference champs to be the Bulls despite their lackluster play early in the season. The Bulls over the Celtics in 7 games for the Eastern Conference championship.

Man, when KG plays like what he is capable of... the Celtics would reach the playoffs EASY, and might even have the best East record.

However, as strong as their starting lineup are, they don't have a quality big next to KG. What happens when they face Yao, Bosh, Dwight Howard, Amare? What about their bench? If the big three of KG, Allen and Pierce play around 40mins/game, they'll be tired in April, and worse they'll be prone to injury. Remember Cassell? This is one of the reasons why the Spurs are so successful because they limit the stars' players to around 30mins/game, allowing their bench to get quality minutes, and being prepared by June.

But will the celtics go far into the playoffs? Why not?

There is a 34% chance of making it to the NBA Finals and a 32% chance of making it into the Eastern Conference Finals, 20% in the Eastern Conference Semifinals and 9% in the 1st Round and a 5% possibility that they will miss the playoffs.

warmth could have the perfect checklist interior the East. i'm guessing Celtics could have 2-3 seeds.(in the back of Magic if Celtics is at third seed) ---- including ---- Heats could be in ECF, who in a position to dodge Magic and Celtics. Celtics probable going to play Magic interior the 2d around, and Celtics could win the 7 activity sequence. if Celtics in basic terms finished playing Magic and warmth cruis with the aid of bull, warmth could have a guess to pass to the in basic terms appropriate, becus Celtics performed harder video games and warmth could shot the ball o.k. and not commit different turn over. otherwise Celtics could nevertheless have the better hand through intensity of Celtics Bench and their length, warmth of course have not any answer for Celtics extensive protection. i might choose the Celtics, my guess is 5 video games. 6 video games if Celtic/Magic long previous to activity 6 or 7.
