I'm honestly not taking it personally, just seeing the ridiculousness of some people.

I do think that it was wrong of Yahoo! Answers to delete your answer, because it was valid.
The question that was asked was on a objective matter, not subjective, and therefore was asking for opinions. You gave yours, and that should be respected.
I think that the problem was that whomever deleted your answer didn't take the time to actually read the question and to realize that your answer was a valid one.
I think that the person who reviewed your answer saw your answer and assumed wrongly that by answering simply like you did, you were just answering to try to get points or something (a lot of people do that, which is even more silly, in my opinion.)
I think that you should protest the removal of you answer by doing what the email says and, "If you feel this content was removed in error, please contact Customer Care and tell us why."
Let us know how this turns out! Good luck!

Yes, things have gotten ridiculous on here with the thumbs down and violations. I asked a question yesterday and found out later I was an idiot, because things weren't what they appeared to be. But, meantime, I had a user contact me to help me get revenge. She said she had friends at Yahoo and that is how she kept from getting suspended. Plus, she herself reports people, because she said Yahoo liked some people to keep things stirred up. By the way, my heritage is English and Irish with German mixed in. Good question.

Aha! Yahoo must have had a run on dishing out "deletions" violation notices coz we got one yesterday too. Ours was for Polls & Surveys. The question was "Who's your favourite person on Yahoo Answers? Our answer was "Are you fishing for compliments or something?" There is a similarity between yours and ours......we both put a "?" at the end of our answers!! We were told that if we thought ours had been removed in error to contact Customer Care which we did and got a response this morning that said they couldn't engage in dialogue!! So, maybe the reason for their Coffee Break on Sunday evening was so they could get up to date with sending out Violation Notices LOL. Ho hum! Another day in the life of Yahoo!

IT is not the site, but some of the very nasty people here on Yahoo..they have invaded the last nice section of Yahoo there was..it was only a matter of time...someone has dropped a "report" on your question..the computer pulls the question and you get an automatic violation notice. We are getting mroe and more trolls here, one of the more notorious shows up now with great regularity...t a r a J is a known troll with hundreds of incarnations to replace the one just banned, over and over...and there are others...dont' take any of this personally , it is just part of thier pitiful game. I agree totally and the most frustrating thing is as you say yahoo do not answer when you email an appeal!!!!
Yahoo will end up completely alienating people and this will end up on the scrap heap like 360.
Maybe yahoo have some kind of hidden agenda to cheese us all off and Y!A will then die without them having to close it.!!!

It is ridiculous. I got a violation for the postings called "Have you tried this?" or some such thing - the listings of home remedies.
On top of that, a troll has decided to use my name. Sure I reported it, but you know how they respond.

Ignore it and move on - I got one for asking what I should do to celebrate reaching level 4 - I pursued it, and all they did was spit the community guidelines at me.

I had a similar case , and had a violation notice, I think it was for answering a question with a question, it is not allowed.
