It says it plays DVD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, JPEG and CD+G playback compatibility but I cannot find any further specs on the web.

Wharfedale are a long established British speaker manufacturer. They have been making good quality hi-fi speakers for several decades.
Unfortunately, their TVs and DVD players are rubbish (different technology, y'see...).

wharfedale are not that good at all I would recommend getting a better tv for a little more money I used to have a wharfedale and it broke down they are hopeless trust me.
