Can anyone plaese explain to me the nature and existance of ghosts, are they like living energy or souls of the departed because I am very interested but equally confused!

A Ghost is a Spirit which is a Soul the Etheric body that we use to Astral Travel so when we pass over that is what leaves the body. It is understood as a sort of life force body or aura that constitutes the "blueprint" of the physical body, and which sustains the physical body.
Some people don't pass over because of unfinished business
Or they just don't know they have died
Or they didn't know to go to the light
This is what people call a Ghost
I call Spirit some call Lost Souls
You also have a Spirit Guide which has been with you from the time you was born till the day you pass over : )
Do you also know that people that Astral Travel are seen as ghost, so maybe people are seeing ghost maybe are just living people just exploring via Astral travelling : )

What a complitcated questions. lol Starting with the basics: a ghost is one who is still attached to the earth for a number a reasons. They don't know they are dead, waiting for a different result, afraid of the afterlife, etc. Call if unfinisihed business if you like. That's part of it as well. A spirit is someone who has crossed over completely and is not tied to the earth anymore. (Thus the phrase "earth bound") However, they can come back here for whatever reason. Sometimes they're just checking in on us, sometimes they're comforting us, etc. That or they just liked where they were and want to visit it every now and then. lol I know some people think that once a spirit has crossed over you can never contact them. That's just not true. I still talk to my grandpa, and he's been dead for...7 years? Something like that.
Back to ghosts. I guess I never really thought of them as having souls, but that's kind of what they are as well. The soul is the part of you that lives on after the physical body has died. *shrugs* I've been talking to spirits for a while now. Maybe I'll ask them next time I see one.

I think there are 2 types of ghosts the first type are the ones that still feel they have a purpose and things to do on earth so their souls stay on to finish the work and the others are the ones where thier souls have not been allowed to rest because they are in purgatory so they are left beween world and these are the bad ones.

this is a tricky one to answer and I think many people have different views. I believe spirits are peoples souls that walk the earth after death but ghosts I feel are like an energy of sorts, kind of like a video replaying snippets of the past.

The reality is that WE donot exist.Theory of religion is that it is only the SOUL that exists and body is temporary.Soul in its endless journey transmigrates from one body to another.So it is only the Ghosts that exist permanently.But what we believe about Ghosts is false.They are harmless.They cannot communicate to you without any media.They cannot harm you directly.Kirlian Photography has proved soul coming out when person die.Near death experiences indicate that death is not the end.

ghost is just another term for spirit,ghost is a word used in olden times,where as more spiritualists like to use the term spirits
I think how can every place be haunted,as it is like saying that all spirits ,for example of famous people never pass over.
the word ghost scares most.....
spirits of loved ones come and visit and this can be clarified at spiritualist churches,it would be good for you to go and watch how some of them demonstrate their gift of communication,and how if used correctly is not scary but a great gift to have,hope this helps

Ghosts are bodiless energies of the departed that roam on earth usually because they believe they died too soon or that they have some purpose in hanging around.

Ghosts are the things that Shaggy and Scooby kept running away from ( and not surprisinly, a man dressed up) and spirits are the things that returned to earth in Ghostbusters.I think.

I see Ghosts a reruns of past events like a video .Spirits are different and can be anywhere any time like around important dates etc
