Do you find it harder to deal with black women, once you date outside your race. I often find that black men put down their sister once they go on the other side. You will see a black man going out of his way to please a woman of another race, but will give you hell for the same shitz another woman of the other race does. I often wonder how these guys really feel about their black mommas

Well, I can't speak for black men. (Obviously, no one can speak for an entire group.) But I can speak for my husband [who is a black man]...

My husband doesn't have anything to do with his mother. But this is ONLY because she has given him such a hard time- and also because she is extremely racist and disrespectful of his wife. I am the most important person in his life, and he will have nothing to do with anyone who treats me in a negative manner.

That being said, he [my husband] loves his fellow human. Regardless of a person's "race", gender, nationality, religion, etc... he has the utmost respect for people unless they give him a reason to feel otherwise. Therefore, he appreciates black women every bit as much as he would if he were not with me. One of the characteristics that I love most about him is his love, admiration, and appreciation for/of all people in spite of everything.

You can rest assured that there are black men who think highly of black women no matter what. My husband is one of them.

I know this is for black guys but as a black woman who has a white boyfriend I have to say something. . . .

I don't think whom a person dates has anything to do w/ how they view their parents. I have seen what you are saying happen. But honestly what does that have to do w/ you. If you are w/ a guy (regardless of race) and he is not treating you the way you feel you should be treated then dump him. Don't go into a whole psychosis as to why or how they treat thier parents or past mates. All that matters is how is he treating YOU. Like I said if a guy is not treating you well dump him as he does not see your value. I mean many ppl (particuarly black ppl) feel that my boyfriend is white because my father was not thier for me, I w/ that white guy because I like that white guy. All in all what I'm basically trying to say is race doesn't matter, all that matters is how that person makes you feel about yourself.

I date whoever i like. my deal is if i like you then i like you. it would be ideal for me to be with a black woman and in my case, it is what i am particularly hoping for since my past relationships (all interacial) were not good experiences. i donot believe that black men held a secret meeting and said "lets treat our sistahs like **** and other races like queens because we're jerks like that". Donot pencil us all as the same type of man because many good men, including black are simply over looked by many women and women by men. everyone has there preference and desire while some just want a good person. how they treat their other is of no monolithic significance that you are speaking of. i treat all women the same. and for the record, i love my mom and in fact, she is the reason i believe in great black women still being around.

If you pay attention to it, it can be hard to deal with. My justification is this. I want to be with someone who treats me right, regardless of what their race is. Should I be with someone of my own race that treats me like s*** just because they are the same as me? That makes no sense. If people have that much time to pay so much attention to someone else's lifestyle, something is probably not altogether with their own....
