I have never been to India, but as an Australian I don't think you can get a better country to live, especially with all the trouble in the world today. I think Australia is the safest place to be. Especially in regional or rural areas. Not the big cities.

I am not Indian nor Australian. I've been to both countries though.
It depends where in India you would move to. But if you love the kangaroos and koalas, stay put in down under... just kidding!
India, as a whole country is more culturally diversified and more mystical that good ole' Australia. If you are gaining Australian dollars and living in a metro like Bengaluru (old name Bangalore), I think you would love it in India. Weather wise, it is template like Brisbane, sometimes. You can have a cook, a driver, a gardener each for less than AUD80 per month. If you love Indian spicy food, even better, you can dine out every other night. Books are cheap. I bought my Da Vinci Code paperback for abt USD5 compared to the same in Australia at more than double the price. And English fairly spoken in Bangalore.
So, I would say India.

India is a better place.
Various reasons...
Climate is good. But you need to decide in which part will you like to stay.
See in India there are more than 22 states........ If you stay in Darjelling or Goa...... it's heaven.
Where if I compare India with AUS...... i dont know how many states they have.
Compared to AUS India is less expensive.
See you have an option to choose your place.
North India: Delhi, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Jallander, Noida, Dehra Dun and othter.......
South India: Kerala, Banglore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Vizag..
West India: Bombay, Pune, Nagpur...
East: Kolcatta, Darjelling and others.....
I would say that if you like Cold climates then north is best.
If you like to be at the beach all the times....then Goa, Munnar, Chennai.
For moderate climates the full India in OK.
See you got so many options..... AUS will never have so many.
Welcome home Mate.

properly i think of TOI summed it up superbly : " it is less complicated to scouse borrow gold from citadel Knox than to triumph over Australia in Perth." Australian economic company have been robbed off. that's why it replaced into pronounced that this replaced right into a series between the cricket's undoubted champions and their celebrated challengers. yet what India has performed right it is purely innovations-boggling. That too beacause of what all occurred the previous week. properly it's going to be an absolute mayhem in Oval. Hail the guy- Anil Kumble for the steely confirm and exhibiting the variety of great character. applicable guy to lead the rustic in such difficult cases.
