Am I the only one who gets annoyed in reading text messages with "me" for AKO and "you" or just the plain "u" for IKAW?
ex: Where na YOU? Dito na ME... or Eat na YOU? Nauna na ME eat kasi gutom na ME. What time pala YOU uwi?...
Aaargh! It sounds too pa-cute. Not to mention that it makes a linguist's skin crawl... It's really a big turn off for me to see such messages. Can't people just text either in pure Filipino or English or at least word it in Taglish but do it the right way?
Ex: You put it there na lang. (It still seems conotic but either the Filipino or the English language was not "murdered.")

Sorry kahlan. It might be annoying for some but some got used to it already.
When I was in the Philippines, I tried very hard to shorten the messages but hoping it would be understood by the receiver. It;s not for pa cute but the cost the goes with the text. We have limited characters per message. If you will exceed the character limit, it would be considered as 2 or 3 messages with the corresponding cost that goes with the per text sent.
Some maybe pa cute but reason of others is because of the cost involved. Then they will get used to using such texts as they go along.. It became a habit.
Lastly, that's why the pasa load (load transfer) was so popular in the country. Just imagine the lowest load (balance)that you can transfer to your friends and relatives.

Sometimes, i have to re-read and re-read text messages to get their meaning when they're also done shortcut. I prefer to read and send whole words as much as possible.

What's really annoying is when somebody sends you a message of approval or agreement and instead of writing "OK" they just write "k". You check your phone... there's an empty screen with a single "k" written on it. Isn't "OK" short enough, we have to abbreviate that too?!?!
Good morning is abbreviated as "gud am"... this could also be read as "god damn". Hehehe.
I hate writing text messages on a cellphone. I prefer making calls. Then again, where I am right now, there is no difference in price between them. I can actually make a phone to my friends and family of the same subscription (and they all have the same as mine) for hours and just pay the startup fee with the equivalent of 4 pesos.

Welcome to the revolution. Actually English language also borrowed some words from French. From time to time, languages evolve. Taglish is mostly used in text messaging as it is convenient to use because of it's short words. I do hope naintindihan mo ito. Para yatang mainit ang iyong head. Cool ka lang, Relax ka lang.

each so often, I frequently dnt yet such as you pronounced, if I purely typed a protracted message and in trouble-free terms have been given a one or 2 observe respond I even tend to think of the reaction ought to've been greater ideal yet each now and then i understand...My brother is infamous for purely asserting ''lol'' or ''ok...'' that's why I hardly text cloth him :)

I hate the text messages. To me it looks like the message was written by a person who wouldn't have a clue on how to spell.
I will admit to using some of the misspelt words when I am IN 'LAZY' mode but only on rare occassions.

I know it's annoying but what's also annoying is that each text message has a limited number of characters so proper words are often too long.
You can say they're just being economic.

I'm also pissed off with text msgs like that...sobrang pa-cute, di na cute! lol
But, what can we do? We're from different walks of life. In short, magkakaiba tayong lahat. Eh sa ganun sila eh, anong magagawa natin...hehe

How about text msgs with an "h" in which it is NOT needed?
like: "akuh" and "buhbye"
or the laugh, "harhar"??
