None, for as long as you and your minor girlfriend don't have sex, otherwise you could be charged with statutory rape. The parents can really get a restraining order against you, because she is still a minor. But what you can do is maintain your relationship with your girlfirend at a distance and wait for 2 years. You have to inform her about this and make her understand your situations. When she becomes an adult, then her parents cannot do anything about your relationship.
You must have a patience of a Saint if you really love her...

Her parents have the upper hand here- they can get a restraining order on you. They can accuse you of sex with a minor which whether performed consentualy or not, can land you in jail. Try talking to the parents and doing whole family type activites. Might not be your ideal fo fun but it could help her parents see that you are trustworthy. My husband is almost five years older than me. We have been married going on 11 years. It was not looked upon too kindly by my parents at first. They did not have a choice once I was 18 though. So either wait a bit or get in her parent sgood graces.

The Parents can get a TRO, but then if you have sex with her while she's still under 18 you will face Statutory Rape charges, and be considered pedophile and will have to register as a child sex offender. The best thing to do is what the others have told you date someone above the age of 18. or wait 2 years and date her again.

Face reality - The girl is under age of 18. She is under the care and custody of her parents. You can go to her folks and have a long and sincere chat about your feeling for the girl and you intentions. However, you are out of school and she is still going through the last 2 years and really need to pay attention to her schooling and not her emotions.
Unless you want some legal trouble it would be advisable to follow the wishes of her parents. If they get a restraining organ and you violate it you are in for some serious trouble. If you push and sneak around they can get you for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, restraint, kidnapping (Life Sentence) any number of things depending on how angry the parents get.
You should not be fooling around with a girl in school in any case. You should understand the difference in your situations and the complications that you affair, sexual or not, can lead to.
Be wise. Protect yourtself from some really serious consequences of you go against the parents wishes. Make peace with them or they will suspect you of sneaking around with their daughter. Even a suggestion of this behavior can land you in prison. It does not have to be true, it just has to be alleged and you will regret the day you set eyes on this girl. Remember that if you have any form of sex with her they will put you away with a sex offender tag on you for the rest of your life.
I know this is harsh but before you got involved in an obviously unwarkable situation you should have used some common sense. Get out of it. It is over. If you persist, they parents have already threatened you with legal consequences. Take their advice. When the girl is 18, you will be 22 and both of you closer to mental maturity. She can then make her own decisions without threatening your freedom and future.

well you need to step back, even if your not having sex. your committing a crime. she is a minor. you need to stick to people WHO are at least 18. if u love her and really want to be with her wait til she is 18. otherwise you are looking at prison time. have u ever seen that show Dateline: to catch a predator? you are considered a child predator. i know it seems unbelievable but its true she is still considered a child, a minor. you are old enough to know this. once she is 18, an adult then you Can consider her. other wise her parents or anyone that notifies the proper authorities can send you off to the big house. besides can u honestly tell me you haven't wanted to have sex with her? or that it will never come up? you need to stop trying to date children, if i was her parents i would press charges if you wouldn't listen. 16 isn't old enough to know a lot about the world and as a teenager she is very i mean VERY easily to influence. besides why do you want to date children? do you have self esteem issues that you need to look toward girls that are easily manipulated ? I don't mean to sound harsh, but you need to wake up before you get butt rapped in the house of blues!

Hi Bryan,
If you really care for this girl, the mature thing to do would be to approach her parents and ask why they have had such a sudden change of mind. Let them know that you respect their opinion and if they feel that you are a little too old then you might ask if if it ok for you to stay 'friends' with your gf and maybe start things fresh once she's a little older.
Any other way will result in failure.

i think it's good that ur not planning on having sex just yet.
I feel though that the parents were all happy about it at the start coz their daughter had found a great guy and who is apparently treating her right.... now it's sinked into them that 'oh gosh, wait.. he's 20... he's a guy... he's gonna wanna have sex'
so now they're all freakin out about their little girl havin sex with someone 4 years older than her.
I think u need to confront them somehow without ur girlfriend and tell them about ur intentions with their daughter. it might help.

You are considered an adult where she is considered a minor. The parents could press charges. I was in the same situation when I was 16. I ended up by getting pregnant.
