They usually calculate how many weeks pregnant you are from the first day of your last period as you cannot be sure of the exact date of ovulation. My last period started on the 17 august and I am currently 11 weeks pregnant , which has been confirmed by ultrasound,so I think that the dates you have been given may inaccurate I would ask for a second opinion about how far along you are so that your care can be given at the correct times during your pregnancy.
Congratulations on your news though and hope all is well x

I only get 6 weeks from those dates.
Seems like you concieved a month earlier than you thought!! Very common to get a period even though you are pregnant. And ultrasound at 10 week is very accurate so congrats. You are nearly through your first trimester!!

Good luck, oh and pregnancy is calculated at 40 weeks from the first day or your last period. Now in your case, you were already 4 weeks pregnant on your last period but didn't know it. So your Last Menstrual Period was actually back in August. You will be due approximately June 3rd.

Best of luck

Here's what I can tell you -- I know women who had spotting or period-like flow during their pregnancies, so I don't think you can tell the date of conception from that. More likely, the GP is looking at your hormone levels on the pregnancy test and going by that (some of the hormones fluctuate based on how far along you are.)

Make an appt. with your Dr. Why would you go to the hospital just because you missed a period? Anyway, see your Dr. and they can calculate it for you based on your last menstrual cycle, or an ultrasound.
