Yes, its pretty stupid like as if they are trying too hard to make their kid unique. I mean before you pick your child's name try and imagine how it might affect their future career. What if your child becomes president or even just the CEO of a huge company? They will want a name where they can be taken seriously Lol "And here she is to address the country.... President My'Unique Angel"

Okay because some people get tired of naming there kids the normal Ashley, Brittney, Sarah, and Julie. It's not but so cute to have 5 kids in a class with the same name Maria, or whatever. It's your child, and names stand for the character and personality of the child. I love unique and different names. So that would have some ambition for my child to be unique and different and not like everybody else. And for ghetto names, not everyone is rich and well off. Some people grow up in rural areas, aka the ghetto, and people often stereotype them for the names that they use. It doesn't matter. It's not your name so who cares. I hope this helps you to get a better understanding of why people name how they do.

Well I love the name Mason!! I have grown up with the name Katie spelled Catie which has meant that my name has been spelled wrong by everyone even when spelled out to people they get it wrong. How ever it does seperate me from all the other Katies out there so it hasnt been that bad. If you dont mind your sons name always being spelled wrong then use Masynn but if that is going to bother you go with Mason!! Good luck!

lol I totally agree. I can understand if that's like your religion or something like you're naming it after your heritage but I mean people are really hyphen overloading these days and i feel so bad for there kids who will have to spell that to pass kindergarten! I am a fan of spelling the name a little different just to be unique(but not like confusing). Hyphens are just to confusing and they look and sound horrible with most of the names they pick! lol :)

Apostrophes are used in some Arabic names and possibly
some African names. So, I guess, it was originally a way for
people who refer to themselves as African-Americans to
connect with their roots.
The reality is the names are just ridiculous. Maybe they
should have used real African names.

It's not only the spelling, it's the names themselves - they are pulled out of the air along with the spelling: they are completely made up. I feel sorry for the kids teachers when you've got to figure out, not just the spelling but how to pronounce them, as most make no sense.

I'm with you! " Everybody" wants to make their baby "unique"
Oh boy .. those folks sure have acheived that ! Their child will certainly be remembered but not in the way it was intended.
Names DO matter in our society, in all phases of our lives.
By giving them off the wall names or spelling is not the way to do it.

totally agree with all the crappy spellings! If I can't see it and say it straight away its not a nice name to me. I don't mind the odd 'ah' like in 'Juliah' instead of 'Julia' but the ones you wrote are just stupid and cruel. Who does that to kids???
My kids are Eliza and Isaac. Normal, easy, simple. How hard is it to give your kids names like that.
