1-attractive, easy to read and maneuver.
2-repetition of topics on 2 or 3 parts on the site
[for instance up and down the right side, and also a line across the top of the exact same things]

even Yahoo does it

1. important- clean spaces, w/ no clutter so you can see what you are looking for
2. horrible- not being able to navigate easily through the site
