I think its totally stupid in this day and age, but if that's the way they want it then let them. I don't think perhaps they have thought of the consequences tho, 2 tiny babies growing up without a mum? How will it affect them in later life? I know I wouldn't want it for my kids, Jehovah's Witness or any other religion.

It states, His start mom and father, Lindberg Sr. and Rachel Wherry, who don't have custody and flew from Boise, Idaho, to be on the listening to, believed their son could have had the transfusion and mentioned he have been unduly prompted via his criminal parent, his aunt Dianna Mincin, who's additionally a Jehovah's Witness. After interpreting his I puzzled why all this time the boy grew to become into ill and his mom and father in no way got here till he went to courtroom. As for him being unduly prompted The decide made his element: The decide mentioned his determination grew to become into based strictly on data. "i don't have faith Dennis' determination is the effect of any coercion. he's mature and is familiar with the consequence of his determination," With the transfusions and different therapy, the boy have been supply a 70 % hazard of surviving the subsequent 5 years. If a individual follows what they have faith in magnificent, and that concept is interior the Bible, why could he no longer save on with it. just to stay some greater years. God tells us if we save on together with his regulations he will carry us back to existence. The boy desperate to maintain on with the Bible and God has no longer forgotten him.

I don't admire her for her faith at all.
I think she, along with the rest of the family are selfish.
I'm not a religious person but I do know that the main body of bible worshipers does not have an issue with transfusions and they have been reading the bible a lot longer than 130years....try 2000 odd.
I also believe that Christians (not JW's as they hadn't been "made up" yet) were last asked to die for their God in the crusades. Modern Christianity does not ask such things from its members...so why have JW's adopted this???

Pathetic if you ask me...all because 'some bloke' said so!!!

I think what isn't justified is all the moaning about it.
we have a system where we can decide to have it or not depending on our beliefs & so why do people moan about it when someone made a decision diferent to ours.

some people say she was brainwashed........
Well arnt we all in one way or another, from what clothes we buy & the trends we follow. some people have a mobile & yet we are told the masts can kill us, some people smoke & yet we are told it can kill us.
She had the right to the descision wether it be right or wrong in your book. some countries dont offer a transfusion at least she had the choice.

As a nurse I can never understand how Jehovah's Witnesses tick in this respect, but it 's their faith, their choice. However, my objection would be far stronger had someone been refusing for a child to have transfusions.

What I really fail to understand is that apparently it is ok for Jehovah's to have organ transplants, and yet not blood, and yet a blood transfusion is a form of transplant as you are receiving a donation of living blood cells, very strange.

However, this isn't my faith and if their belief is such that they see death as preferable then that's up to them, as long as the hospital involved isn't slated for it.

People hear that a decision is made because of their religion and are filled with rage.

People decide against Chemo, surgery, and medication all the time with no one bothering them about their reasons for doing so.

The reasons can vary between side effects to unreasonable fear to just a desire to try some other treatment. This happens thousands of times every day with no headlines.

I guess these anti-religion liberal reporters know what their readers want.

Yeah, these are old beliefs, But here in UK, I read about similar case. But however, doctors were able to filter the blood of the lady and transfuse it. She was saved.

There is a type of fake blood that can be used on Jehovah Witnesses so this is the hospitals fault for neglecting to use this.

Jehovah Witnesses (however annoying they can be!) are just following a religion that they believe in just like, Christians, Jews etc so who are we to judge if they are right or wrong?!

I feel sorry for those poor twins. I wonder if they will want to be raised as Jehovah's witnesses, when they learn that their beliefs was the thing that caused their mother to needlessly die?

I thought that in the eyes of god, all human life was meant to be sacred.

In this day and age no woman should have to die as a result of childbirth. In my eyes this is effectively a form of suicide which is one of the worst sins you can commit according to the bible.

I don't see anything wrong with sane consenting adults making this decision. I do not agree though when such decision are made by the parent for a child though. In any case medical staff should intervene the moment the person is unconscious as they have sworn an oath to preserve life, not to let it slip away.
