Yes. It is because Ebay gets greedier and greedier. They keep raising their fees. It has gotten to where they charge so much to list something, that unless the person way overcharges, they can't make a profit. Very few of the normal "little" guys use it anymore. It isn't the "garage sale" it used to be. Just expensive used cr*p now. I don't know about Amazon. I haven't used it but once or twice.

I stopped using ebay over a year ago because the whole site is crap now. It's full of fake items, misleading auctions, dishonest sellers, conartists, etc. Not to mention how crappy ebay is about paypal... because it OWNS paypal.
Amazon is better..
