I worked until I had my son. But it all depends on how your pregnancy is going, they say that the exercise is good for you while pregnant.

I stopped working when I was 30 weeks. It was a good time for me to stop because my workplace was being converted into a different franchise at the time and I didn't want to be learning all that stuff for a few weeks and then leave. Also I weighed 105 kilos by then and when my work was a deli it was fine because I could sit down a lot but once the franchise took over I wouldn't have had so much freedom. I also didn't see much point in working when I didn't need to so I just stayed home and cleaned all day, scrubbing the shower with bleach every day lol. Very exciting, oh and I watched daytime TV and slept in til 11 every day : ) Ahhhhh those were the days!! Make the most of your maternity leave because once the first baby is outta the way you wont ever have that relaxing 'do nothing' time again!

I worked for about 2 months of my pregnancy, I Quit because I started having little Panicky attacks, Were I needed water ALL the time almost as if i was dehydrated,
I felt like i couldn't breath
And I had to have a heart monitor Put on
All is well now And i may go back, But all the stress from my job put my baby in a dangerous position, and if your expecting twins,
and your a High Risk, you may want to quit early,
Just to protect your self from Toxin's in your blood And the swelling of your feet,
very Dangerous stuff

I was 7 months pregnant and quit because the commute was too much for me...also I worked from 10am to 11pm every day...although the job was not at all physically demanding...I was concerned about commuting home through central London late at night...my husband and I moved back to my hometown as soon as I quit.

I worked till 27weeks (6mths or so) with the first as I had pelvic problems and standing in one spot all day (i was a bank teller then) was killing me! Went back to work when she was 5 1/2 mths old. :(
With the second I worked till 34 weeks and took 6 blissful weeks off to enjoy and spend time with my first child and laze around. I just started back at another job after nearly 3 years off.

you shouldnt have to quit your job at all. When it comes closer to your due date you may be able to take that time off with a doctors excuse and when you have the baby you should get 6-16 weeks off. You should talk to you Humane Resource person at work. Also if you quit your job how are you going to pay for the delivery? You do need insurance for that you know. My oldest son was born in 04 and he cost almost 14k to deliever. Besides when you can go back to work after your time off you will enjoy a break. Having kids and raising them are not easy. Its good to get some relief sometimes, Especially if your partner is lazy.
