My husband is a disabled vet. He was determined 100% disabled by the military, and he gets veterans pay. He was told to go apply for SSD, but they turned him down. So we got a lawyer. It has been two years now and we still haven't heard anything. Does anyone know how long we have to wait?

You shouldn't wait another day...

You will probably have to "pester" the government to get your rightful entitlements.

It is best to take a three tier approach. Call and WRITE a local or state politician and ask for help. The Bureaucrats can really move when prompted by even a simple phone call from above (Believe it or not, you can actually LEGALLY pay them to do it for you, it's called greasing the tracks of justice, and it was one of the few things the Politicians held on to when they cleaned up washington)

Then call the Office and ask for the manager's business address and write him. Then call weekly for updates. The most important thing to do is to obtain documents and not just someone's word that something is getting done. Get a date, set up appointments, and get everything in WRITING!

Ask them to put it in writing that you will know the outcome by such a date and if not claim they are violating "Due Process Laws of Rightful Entitlement???

File an action of mandamus in order that the SSD of your husband will be acted upon since you are suffering from this non-processing and needs immediate remedy on the matter.
