Because a lot of people look for information, even false information, to support their beliefs, rather than forming their belifs from credible information. A good example is that President Bush got us into the Iraq war by doing this.

Your question is interesting. I first assumed you were talking about the U.S. but saw you quoted a British source. Do you consider the BBC to be liberal or conservative or unbiased.
Yes, there are too many ignorant people in this country, whichever one you are talking about.
Bottom line is my early retirement was forced by H1B visa holders, illegals are taking jobs that should go to students and senior citizens, my health care is overpriced because of the illegals soaking up free hospital services, my taxes are up to pay for more schools to house illegals, and I really don't like ungrateful people skimming what they want out of a country my family has fought and died to build. My opinion was decided before the newspapers said a word.
