If you think of adding 1 to the number then you would have a number that is evenly divisible by 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7
The lowest common multiple of 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 is:
3 x 2 x 2 x 5 x 7 = 420
Subtracting 1 you would get 419.
But it could also be *any* multiple of all these numbers (subtract 1), so 840-1 = 839 would also work, or 1259 or 1679, etc.
I have to assume the question wanted the smallest number though.
419 / 7 = 59 r 6
419 / 6 = 69 r 5
419 / 5 = 83 r 4
419 / 4 = 104 r 3
419 / 3 = 139 r 2
