Joe theismanns was very graphic but if you are thinking of 7 years ago(actually a little longer) it was Los Angeles Raiders running back Napoleon McCallum. The injury came on Sept. 5, 1994 in the Raiders' season-opening game against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football.

Jack Youngblood broke his leg sacking Roger Staubach in the 1979 playoffs. He continued to play on it right through the Super Bowl. He was labeled the 'John Wayne' of football for his historic toughness. He was inducted into the NFL Hall Of Fame in 2001.

Actually there were probably alot of athletes that broke there legs in the NFL..you just dont hear about it till the next day or so...The bad injuries is when they hurt there neck or back..Just look at the IR list and im sure you will find a list of broken bones..

last i can really remember was theisman, when LT just pounced him and you could see the leg twist beyond the twist zone, ugly scene and it was replayed forever and you still se it on the best damn show clips, im sure others have been but this is the most famous from my time, with out looking it up on google, to see whom

the nastyiest one ive ever seen was joe theisman and he was sacked by lawrence taylor it just makes me cringe everytime i see it, the other one that is bad but was in college was willis mcgahees leg

His name is Tim Krumrie. He was a defensive lineman. If you want to look him up he is th d-line coach of Kansas City this year...It was nasty
