there are far more college fans than there are nfl fans, so that MUST say something in itself...

there are more teams to root for (119 in division 1-A) and the games are sometimes cheaper to attend ( unless you're trying to get into an Ohio State game ) and the venues are generally more historic, and BETTER, and BIGGER than the nfl...

really, the nfl is ALL ABOUT business, and college is about kids who for the MOST part will never play for millions of dollars per year...

You got it. College Football players play to get to that check, while NFL players can have guaranteed money. It's sad, but I live in the South (Alabama), so I was born into college football. My favorite team is Auburn. Iron Bowl winners the last 5 years. No one better get on and tell me that Alabama won 9 in a row at one point in time because that was when scholarship restrictions didn't exist. They had 300 players on the sidelines and Auburn was overshadowed. THE TEAM IN ALABAMA IS NOW AUBURN!

Because every game in college counts. At the end of the season, no body lets their starters sit out to rest up for the playoffs or get next years players some clock.

Loose once and you probably wont make the title game, loose twice and you are struggling to get into a bcs game.

Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder. In my humble opinion, College football is not better than the NFL, simply because there are far too many teams to keep up with.

Boston College!!! Sucky loss this weekend!!!

Game is different. Guys get paid to make plays in the NFL so they try to. Sometimes they try too hard, sometimes they sit on their checks. Plus college is way more fat moving than the NFL and their 40 sec clock.

maybe because you feel more attached to college football because you actually went to the school when in NFL hardly any people are on the teams and fans.

You pretty much answered the question...College football players appreciate the game...Pro football players in general are in it for the big contract...but then you have a few team players in the pros like Tom Brady...

The list is long, but I feel like the tradition and pageantry of college football is so amazing.

Plus overtime is SO much better.
