It may seem a bit silly to care about what to some people is just a dead village from a time that has no use to us today. Living history villages bring history to life and make it easyer to see why it's important.
It gives us a base line or starting point into understanding how we have devloped as a culture and why we are the way we are today.
We have one such village down the road from here. It was built on the site of the oraginal and has allowed the persuit of experimiltal archeoliogy. How did they build their homes, what crops did they grow, how did they cope with the lack of sanatation?
The village gives us a place to put those theories to the test. And because of it we have learned so much more than if we just look at these things kept behind glass.

All historical villages in England are still lived in - other than those especially built to show what life was like in an earlier era. Otherwise they are not museums and shouldn't be.
