Because if they weren't "tempting, illegal, banned, fattening, expensive or married to someone else" you could have them without guilt, so the temptation would be gone. Life can be tough, can't it?

There's no guarantee in life, so there are always going to be situations where things don't work out to our favor.
Deal with it, get over it, and move on. Just remember that whatever you want- if it's not a life or death situation- will pass- IF you let it. Remember that everything in this life will pass, everything is transitional. Nothing is permanent.

because we all enjoy things that make us comfortable in any sort of way, physically, mentally ect..... but it doesnt always mean it will bring true hapiness and good results, sometimes we just have to accept how things are.
