Another time someone thought I was a local TV reporter.

I've been mistaken for a fool lots of times. In a more embarrassing tale I was mistaken for my sister when I was about 5. I never quite understood that one, but then they were about 90.

Only online. I have the same name and rank as someone else at my Army post, so people e'mail me, thinking I'm him.

Usually, I'm the one doing this to other people. I start talking to them, and then finally look right at their face, and realize "Oh, you're not who I thought you were. Well, it was nice talking to you anyway." It's hard to be gracious when you're that embarassed, but I'm getting used to it, the older I get (and the older I get, the more it happens. :)

I seem to be frequently mistaken for someone named Steve. There's someone whom I see briefly every morning at my favorite cafe and he calls me Steve. I haven't the heart to correct him.

Once many years ago a Very good looking man ran up to me excitedly saying "KAY" , bent me over backwards, swabbed my tonsils and then after the shock wore off...realized I was not the woman he thought I was.LOL. I ended up going out with him once, mistake! he was a disturbed, dishonest individual and I found out the woman he mistook me for was a character too! others mistook me for her at other times too.
I am glad I am who I am!

Not mistaken. But I reminded them of someone. In fact, they were sure we were related.

Yes, one time and the thing is that I didn't even know the other girl, I was on holiday, in a church, and everyone even the prist said hello, how are you, and all the rest...I still don't know if we really were so "identical"...!
