I like to call my 50's something ultra-conservative boss "bro" every now and then because he doesn't know what to say and it makes him go a really strange pink color.

I sometimes go on ahead and act outrageously, making some serious head-turning go on, and yeah, just for the fun. You are right that sometimes a little thing in life, or a big splash, makes it sooo worth it.
