I was a high school senior, but my school screwed everything up, and now i cant go back. Im getting my GED this month, but im worried about getting into a decent college. (specifically UofL or IU if anyone knows about them). do they generally accept GED students, or am i stuck with a 2 year college?

My wife dropped out of HS in 10th grade. She got her GED some years later when she found out she really needed to go to college to get a good job.

She applied to four state universities (no community colleges and no privates) and was accepted at two with one paying most of her first year.

She now has a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Science, and is working on a dual major Master of Arts in Media Communication Management and Human Resources Development at a ranked master's university.

While undergrad - she became a member of three departmental honors organizations in three unrelated departments.

It can be done. Apply and see what is said.

Keep in mind, attending a 2-year is not "stuck" -- it's a cost effective and valid option. Just be careful that the courses you take are transfer level courses and that you do top quality work there.

community faculties will certainly settle for pupils with GED (then you may circulate to a 4 365 days college after 2 years right here...) some state universities might as properly, yet you likely will could take the SAT and do properly on that to have any hazard. i think of maximum universities choose a level nonetheless. in simple terms examine with the state universities on your state and ask them in the event that they'll enable a pupil with a GED and a SAT score to prepare. beginning at community college and then shifting to the college point is often an option in case you cant discover any universities which will settle for the GED fairly of the degree.
