I'm having a bit of a dilemma. I have a job interview tomorrow at a trendy clothing store and I'm not sure what the proper attire would be for this type of interview. Generally I go for the drab pants suit but it doesn't seem like that’s the right outfit for this. HELP PLEASE!!!
P.S. Please factor in shoes as well

Instead of "business" look that you described go for "business casual" but not "casual" even though they sell casual clothes.

Height of the heel - I think medium to medum high is good. Like up to 3 inch. Don't wear slippers or those stripper shoes either.

How about a pencil skirt and a white silk blouse? Or dress pants and a white blouse, if you don't happen to have a skirt?

Good luck tomorrow. The most important thing to wear is your confident smile. As for clothes - wear somethign that makes yuo feel like yourself.

American Eagle and Ambercrombie can be great choices for a stylish interview. For my interview I wore a button collared long sleeve shirt with nice cackies. I made sure to keep I contact, have research about the company already done, confident (with the help of my outfit), and prepared to answer anything. Adding a necklace with the top three buttons undone looks great, best of luck to you.

A polo is a great replacement for those two name brands, normally the manicans in stores are set up by people with good fashion taste, so look around. I helped my friend dress for an interview for best buy the other day, got the job. (not saying it had to do with his outfit, but sure made him confident)

EDIT: Jennifers first link has a great example, Brad Pitt's shirt with maybe even an undershirt if you dont feel comfortable with a jacket over it. The prada shoes, good question... I doubt you have a pair on hand, nice dress shoes wont hurt.

I dont think Jennifer and I knew you were a female, I am just now seeing your picture, heres a few picture links of appropriate business casual.

That all depends on what sort of wetsuit you are using and how well your skin deals with it. A rash guard will keep you a lil warmer and will obviously reduce rash. I sometimes wear a polypropelene long sleeve under my 3/2 when its cold and I don't want to wear a thicker suit. Most women wear a bikini underneath - most guys wear nothing, although some people who may be homophobic, not proud of their body or just uncomfortable with being naked around anyone or changing with a towel around their waste in public - wear board shorts. But that is very uncomfortable. Probably going with a bikini and rash guard will be best - without the bikini when you get out of your suit (even with a rashguard on) you may feel a little . . . free, maybe even exposed. Hope this helps and have fun and keep going at it. Its a tuff sport but it can change your life. It did for me.

I think that you should try to stay away from the real trendy look. I wouldn't take anyone seriously for a job interview if they came in a short skirt and leggings. I think that you should try to dress in a buttoned down fitted shirt or one of those puff sleeve shirts with either dark washed fitted jeans or slacks. As far as shoes are concerned I would wear either flats or not to high wedges. I know that you stated that you are interviewing in a trendy retail shop, but it never hurts to dress to impress. Cheers
