i cant make diagram but i can make this clear with my best

see there are two resistance parallel to the middle resisitor

i.e. 6 ohm is paralel to a 3 ohm resisitor in the middle

solving this we get 1/Rp=1/6+1/3=1/2
i.e.Rp=2

now this Rp is in series with the other two 3 ohm resistance
solving this we get
Req=3+Rp+3=3+2+3=8 ohm which is the answer

R = r1 + r2(r3 + r4)/(r2 + (r3 + r4)) + r5
R = 3 + 3(3 + 3)/(3 + 3 + 3) + 3
R = 6 + 3(6)/(9)
R = 8
