It could be an allergic reaction! is the baby breastfed? it could be an allergic reaction to something you ate?
-or-
is the baby formula fed? it could be an allergic reaction to the formula?

have you given the baby a bath? did you use soap? it could be an allergic reaction to the soap (new babies have very sensitive skin)

what kind of detergent do you use? are there perfumes in it? the baby could be allergic to the detergent.

You have to do the process of elimination .. but definitely call the babies doctor in the meantime!

could be any number of things such as mozzie bites, heat rash, allergic reaction, or virul infection. Therefore I would take him straight to the doctor to be checked out as things like Meningecocal (which is a life threatening illness) can start out as a red dotty rash.

Better go now before he gets worse.

If you are breastfeeding it could be baby acne, totally normal and will go away around 16-18 weeks.

this is normal if it was a heat rash it would be clustered red spots
if you get too worried ask doctor

check 2 see if he is hot... might be heat rash
