Do Lennon/Mccartney belong with Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, etc...?

Are Lennon/Mccartney as great musically as Mozart or Beethoven?

No. They wrote some great songs and perhaps can be considered with some of the great songwriters of Tin Pan Alley. But they don't come near the great classical composers of the 18th and 19th centuries.

Actually, McCartney was the composer. When the Beatles broke up, Paul's songs all had great music but dumb lyrics, while John's songs had great lyrics but bad music. 8^<

I wouldn't think so. Classical music is so much more complex. I am a fan of all 5 composers.
