Choronzon first appeared in the Enochian writings of John Dee in the 16th century, where he was synonymous with the serpent in the Garden of Eden.

Choronzon is the the black raven of dispersion, god or demon or whatever you want to call it of the abyss who grabs the lost ones and turn them into non-existence. The closest comparison could be to Azag-Thoth, the lord of chaos.

I believe this is a name of a major demon in the Thelemite tradition that Aleister Crowley and his apprentice/male lover believed they did battle with.
