My old friend failed the first o. chem exam and after realizing she wont pass the 2nd o. chem exam she did not take her exam. She also is failing physics and will withdraw from columbia tomorrow and says she is going back to her old university arkansas university where she was the top of the smarts.

I dated a girl like that at Berkeley a looong time ago. She was lost, rudderless. Gave up. Quit on herself. Ran back home. Probably the best thing for her. Being away from home can be tough.

If this person is your friend, you should not tell them that they "failed". They just did not "succeed" in that particular environment and might do much better somewhere more familiar.

you know what else is funny? I am a senior in college, and my entire time here I pretty much just kept to myself and did not talk to anyone, even last year I did not talk to my roomate because she was gay, and yet I am just like sort of going through college and I mean at least I did not fail and am supposed to graduate in May 2008, but a lot of other people did fail. And I just feel like was there a reason for me to be in college and just go through and keep to myself?
