Success and happiness normally can not go hand in hand...... because secret to success is burning ambition and such ambition would never let you be peacefully happy.
However, there could be one way to aim for both and that is to have such ambition which is not self-oriented..... say, for example if someone has the ambition to serve the poor and downtrodden irrespective of race or religion. Well, I do not think that can be called an ambition in the normal sense if it is totally selfless. Well that is the nearest we can perhaps aim to having both success and happiness.

Secret of happiness lies within your heart.There is a saying in swahili "kipendacho moyo ni dawa" meaning what your heart likes is the right medicine.Success lies within your set goals.If you can set and achieve then you are successful in life.Knowing God has a lot to do with ones success coz by understanding the bible you build peace with your creator and you'll never feel guilty in life thereby developing confidence in everything that you do-a ife requirement.
