Not knowing where you are coming from .... housing is a bit high from most of the country but a lot less than California. Depending on location and bedrooms ... a condo is cheaper but still will run around $200k for a half way decent one or two bedroom. There are not many apartment in the better neighborhoods. They are renting for about $700 for two bedrooms.
Food is not expensive with so much competition here. Cars do not rust here like in the north part of the country so they last a long time if taken care of. Cable is the same as anywhere in the country. Cox is the provider and you can go to their website for pricing.
