Now that I decided what college to finish up at looks like Im probably gonna lose around 30-40 hrs in the process..and im still staying in area of study as associate degree..anyone say "hustled"??

They could do like Princeton - no transfers.

It's a shame schools don't explain this better - you have no right to transfer credit anywhere. It's up to the school you want to attend. It's really that simple. The school you want to attend can say yes or no to any class you want to transfer.

Now, if you were on the other side (registrar at a 4-year college), who would you say gets to decide what credits your college accepts in transfer?

Sorry to hear about your 30-40 hour loss - I do indeed understand. I had one college accept my Biology 101 but not the Biology 101 lab. They also took my real estate licensing course as an upper level business course in transfer but wouldn't take my freshman English from a state U. It's all up to the receiving college - tell everyone you know.

What's interesting, though, is that it is the schools who are desperate who give you credit for everything. I had a student in my office today who was considering switching to another school, even though she is happy where she is, because they would transfer all of her community college credits (more than two years worth). The reason is that the other school is so overcrowded that they just want to run people through, regardless of whether they have learned anything or not.

i hear you. i'm not a big fan of the school i'm at but loosing 3 semesters of work doesn't make me want to switch.

colleges are fuking retarded. Take your money and your time. I know what you mean. Just think its almost over and youll never have to deal with colleges again!
