Yes...Because like MC Lyte said"those that write ur rhymes might as well hold ya microphone"...Thats too easy...Back in the earlier days...That was a crime in hip hop...Ur a rapper not a singer...U must be able to write...Back in the 80's and 90's u lost points for not being able to freestyle off the head...so imagine how much u would be looked down on if someone else was writing your rhymes...If it were done back in the days it was more so a record company move...Like with Foxy and SaltnPepa...they had no creative control...SnP was a project for Herbie...and Def Jam had Jay pen 1 or 2 of her songs...Kim of course let Big wrote all hers but he let her have the credit.
But the point is WRITING IS THE ONLY SKILL A RAPPER HAS...unless he/she is a producer then thats another story...lol

yes very much so. rapping is the only pure music genre where you are suppose to talk about your life and how you grew up. and things on your mind. if i found out that jay z used a ghostwriter i will feel lied to. like for 10 years you have been feeding me someone elses life. now puffy can do it because no one belived he does anything he says anyway. but a good rapper yeah i would be hurt. how can you be considerd the greatest rapper of all time if some one is telling you what to say?

I would...Only because my favorite rappers are the type that I hold as actually gifted artists and if I found out they were not behind the creative genius that was drawing me to their music in the first place, I would be put off by that.

No Not at all cause Rapping now days is weak in the first place.. The Lot of them can use ghost writing.. on top of that we have writers for Singers, Musician, Actors, Producers. Why are rappers singled out if they dont write there own material.. After all most of it is acting anyway.. you can't tell me that Dr.Dre was doing all that jazz back in the day cause I know better and know Ice Cube on a personal level and Andre.. But he act out the parts in which Cube wrote.. So Naw in fact I wouldnt be surprised..

I absoluetly would! me being a huge hip hop fan (not the"oh this song has a nce beat to it, so that artist is mad nice" kinda fan). to me its all about the lyrics. Point Blank. not how much you sell, nor how many spins you get on the radio, or how much this song will make you wanna dance. its all about the lyrics. and a real lyricist cant respect another lyricist if someone is ghostwriting for him/or her. to me thats garbage. where's the talent?? i was a big fan of LL Cool J, until i heard about others writing for him. And he calls himself the greatest of all time?!?!? sorry playa, you just fell out of my top list of favorite MC's. no matter how much i respect an MC's flow (and this goes for all my favorite rappers) if i found out they had ghost writers, im not listening to them no more, that simple. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE TALENT?? I DONT WANNA SNAP MY FINGERS AND DANCE!!! I WANT TO HEAR GOOD MUSIC AND GREAT LYRICS!!!! HIP HOP AINT DEAD, BUT WERE LOSING HER AT A RAPID RATE....

No because I do not care about it that much anymore. I used to take stuff like that personally but I realized it's is entertainment so if I like the song, ima just keep jammin to it and keep rollin.
I wont say that they are good though lol.

depends on the rapper...i guess because some rappers u already know they have ghostwiters....I love Trina and if she was to say she don't write her own I wouldn't care b/c it's expected...but for my other favorite rapper like Lil Boosie I would be upset....he would lose cool points for real...I wouldn't even listen to his sh*t no more!!
