Haven't you heard of mad cults like Heaven's Gate and hell, even Scientology? Some people are quite capable of being brainwashed into throwing their money at any cause if it makes them feel like an important hero to the American people, something that Ron Paul's campaign has obviously done. The funny thing though is that I don't really have anything against the guy or his ideals - it's his stupid sheep fans I can't stand.

And I like how the answerers are outing themselves as morons simply by using the word "neo-conservative," a political buzzword that makes the uneducated, yet opinionated user try to look more intelligent only to fail at it.

Of course he has a chance. As he is the only candidate raising money from real people (not special interest groups) and he is the only major anti-war candidate in either party (though the major Democrats pretend to be anti-war), he has a very good chance of winning.

Bash Ron Paul all you like, but when he wins the GOP nomination (beating Thompson and McCain after Giuliani implodes) and goes on to beat Hillary in a landslide, everybody who has supported him will be vindicated. Ron Paul will then go into the White House with the most political capital of anybody since FDR beat Hoover.

The only way he can't win is if the election is rigged or if his delegates are disenfranchised. So if you are saying he can't win, then you are probably planning to rig the election.

He is a legitimate and viable candidate with a better record then the other candidates from either party. He is a long shot because his campaign budget is probably 1/50th the size of the smallest one of the front runners. The reason for his tiny budget is that he doesn't solicit corporate or lobbies donations. The reason he is in the news today is his budget just got much larger. Now it might be 1/10th the size of the smallest of the front runners. But that also means his prayer of winning just improved massively. Now if he does this again tomorrow and the next day then it isn't such a waste of money anymore. Come to think of it explaining this to you has convinced me to donate to the guy right now.

Well it's true, he doesn't really have a shot at the Republican nomination. The Republican party today really isn't a conservative party. It has become an anti constitution, religous fundamentalist, pro-war pro-torture party. Those are the values Republicans that watch the Fox News channel espouse.

But are people who are giving money to candidates like Kusinich or Biden wasting their money if they believe in those candidates, even though there's really no chance of them winning? It's not wasting if your really believe in the cause. I don't care for Ron Paul personally, but he's obviously generating lots of passion. Unfortunately for him much of that passion is not going to vote in a Republican primary.

The last part of the article you linked to, says a lot of why,

"Paul advocates limited government and low taxes like other Republicans, but he stands alone as the only GOP presidential candidate opposed to the Iraq war. He also has opposed Bush administration security measures that he says encroach on civil liberties."

You just have to do your part, to ask how.

Well, so far Ron Paul has the most in single day donations (His 4.3 million) against Mitt Romney's... 3.1 million in a single day?

And I waste my money because your neo conservative's spending has made it WORTHLESS anyways.

LOL. You don't think so huh? Well..........we'll just see about that. I'd say the "people" have a different opinion. Go ahead try stopping them. LOL.

Nicholesta: The people are applying "progression through conservative principle" part of the rock solid foundation for "Humanity". This isn't a mere "grassroots" campaign. This is a freakin "oak tree roots" planted in firm, fertile solid ground that will not be pushed aside. The people will see to that. You're not planting grass ppl, you're making a forest of Oak Trees. Awesome!!!!

Maybe you think its wasted money.

Call me old fashioned, but I think it's an investment in the future of the United States of America by supporting the election of Ron Paul, who will try his best to preserve the principles written in the U.S.Constitution.

You want Socialism? Vote for the other Top Tier candidates.
