Gandalf most probably. Dumbledore, great wizard that he was, is still human. Gandalf, on the otherhand, is immortal and just took the human form to accomplish his mission on Middle Earth.

I love both. They have different powers so I can't imagine how a duel between them would fare.

This truly is the question, isn't it.

Here's the thing, with as strong and powerful as Dumbledore is, he's still just a man, fragile and riddled with all the insecurities and weaknesses of men. Gandalf has no such weakness as he is not a mortal man. He has lived through many lives of men and has forgotten more about magic and sorcery than Dumbledore will ever learn. There really is no contest.

This same question came up a while back. Gandalf would win in a heartbeat. Gandalf is, essentially an angel, while Dumbledore, though powerful is mortal. We really never see Gandalf use all of the power he has at his command, except possibly in the battle with the Balrog.

You do realize that Dumbledore, despite being a wizard, is still only human. Gandalf came from another land from a race of beings that were immortal and wielded the power of nature and the cosmos itself. Dumbledore wouldn't really have a chance and would probably fall to even the Balrog.

Gandalf would win. In fact, I think he does win in the book and kills Dumbledore.

Oh, Gandalf would certainly win. No offense, but Dumbledore sounds like a wuss to me.
