I don't know what's up with all the thumbs down the other answers are getting on your question. Some have given good advice. Basically, ghost knives are peaceful fish, and should be kept with fish with similar personalities, but not anything extremely small like neons that they might mistake for food. They can be kept with some of the milder cichlids as adults as long as they require similar conditions.

The only fish they tend to be aggressive with is other ghost knives, so only one should be kept to a tank. And since they navigate and find food using an electrical field, they shouldn't be kept with other fish (other knives, elephant nose, etc.) that will create any interference.

See the links below for info about black ghost knives. At the bottom of the first, there's a link to a list of compatible species. In the second, the black ghost is compatible with communities 4-7, although I'd match the knife with its tankmates according to it's age. Some fish that would live well with it as an 14-16" adult may not think twice about harassing a 7" juvenile.

Black ghost knife fish should be kept with fish that are peaceful and will not pick on them, and that are too big for them to eat. They have a deceivingly large mouth and will eat many fish that you wouldn't thin they could. I would try clown loaches, being that they will get large and will be a peaceful fish. Clown loaches love to school so you could have a few of them. All this really depends on the size tank you have, BGK's need at the very least 55 gallons, and the clown loaches need a large tank also.

I think just about any fish that isn't very aggressive could live with that fish. Probably semi-agressive fish or community but not African Chiclids. Maybe tiger barbs, or gouramis, etc.
