That special person WILL walk into your life when the timing is right. Just make sure that you make yourself available to the opportunities. Go out, join social clubs that interest you, etc. I understand totally, I was single for 3 years and my now husband just walked through the door at my job one day and he is the best thing that ever happened to me. I was married 3 times before and I wasn't looking when my husband walkin. But things are preordained to happen in our lives at certain times and I turly feel that your turn will happen soon. You've just got to give Karma a little kick along.

Listen honey, earlier this year I was dating this man. He was the first I'd dated in over 10 years. After about 4 months, he broke up with me. You'll laugh at the reason why. He broke up with me because he thought I was in love with him and he didn't want a commitment. Isn't that a laugh?
Well, he's kicking himself now because had he asked me how I felt he would have known I cared for him, I enjoyed his company, but I wasn't in love with him. So now he's single and I'm dating two different men.
Remember, I said I'd been single for more than 10 years. Everyone gets lonely sometime. You won't spend your life alone.

No you will not be lonely for the rest of your life, but yes, these are understandable thoughts once we have been single for a while.
Do you get out much? Might be time for a night out. :)
