Does it creep you out at all? I can't believe how many live around me. I'm glad that I don't have children because that's horrible, those guys should be locked up forever! And if, IF they must go free, they better as hell live in the middle of nowhere, where there are no children around them!

I don't believe my avatar to be a sex offender, trust me, if i had any doubt as to whether he was, he would NOT be my favorite celebrity. I have no tolerance for those type of people. Like i said, they should be locked up forever.

yeah it does scare me a lot and I think everybody because their are people out there that would harm you just for certain reasons.
Even if you think somebody is the nicest person you never know what there past might be like

Yes. In fact, I monitored sex offenders on house arrest for a living for several years. I have one less than a block from my house.
You would be amazed at how many REALLY live around you. When I was working for the Dept. of Corrections, there were approximately 2000 of them on house arrest in Illinois at any given time. That represents about 1/100th of the total number of sex offenders who have to register. Then there are the ones who don't have to register anymore, and then add on top of THAT, the vast majority -- the more than 90% who haven't been caught or convicted.
Also while I was working for the DOC, I came across a guy with the same last name as my best friend's dad... looked kinda like him too. It turned out to be my best friend's grandfather, and neither my best friend or his parents knew he was a sex offender.

I check once a month, just because I have 2 children. People are always moving in and out around here. I've lived in the same house for 5 years and some of my neighbors I don't know.

Not really. But a friend of mine found out that there is (or was at the time) a child-molester that lives right next to a playground. How the hell that's allowed, I don't know. There's a minimum distance required from a school, but it's not far enough... and being across the street from a common playground is definitely NOT right.

My mom looked that up a few years ago. There was actually a sex offender living next-door to a friend of mine whose house I visited quite often.
It didn't really scare me. But it kind of freaked me out...

No I haven't; I don't have any kids, but I agree! Lust for children cannot be cured in jail or otherwise, and I think they should be shipped off someplace and use them for testing instead of animals.
