Well it is a scientific theory so that means it has NOT been proven. theories that are proven become scientific laws such as the law of gravity. I believe that we were all created by God. That is my faith. Scientifically there is a lot of evidence on both sides. I believe that animals adapt to an ever changing enviroment. There are cheetah who have developed stripes. I do not, however, believe that one species developed from another. This part of the theory has took a lot of hits, proving it wrong. There was a skull said to be the missing link between man and ape. This skull was found to be a fabrication by the very scientific group that supported the calim. A scientist took the jaw bone of an ape, filed the teeth, and attached it to a human skull. The theory of evolution can't possibly be true when you look at the time line alloted. The scientific law of survival of the fittest tells us that if man evolved from apes, the apes would no longer be here as they are the weeker species. less than .001 percent of.001 percent of mutations survive. for a creature to change so drastically and develope into a new and stronger species would take a lot longer than the scientists have guessed the age of our planet to be. consider this, .000001 percent of mutations survive. That is one in every one billion. Now that mutaion that survived would have to successfully pass that trait on to the next generation and repeat the step. even if each generation had a mutation that survived, not all mutations are progressive for a species. now consider how many traits would have to be acqired to go from an ape to a man not to mention all the steps before the ape. The fact is that science is not always correct. It is constantly being altered and improved on. This is because science is a process. The world was once flat, The earth was the center of the universe, and more recently we electricuted mental patients. So no, I don't believe in the THEORY of evolution.
People should stop treating it as a proven law of science as it is not. There are lots of theories out there. String theory, planet x theory, big bang theory, they are all theories. I think its funny that this particular theory receives so much attention. The reason for this is simple. Its because the theory counters creationism. It isnt popular because of proof, its popular because it gives non believers something to believe in. Ironic don't you think? People who profess to not live by faith put faith in a scientific theory.

It is not a matter of believing in it or not. It is a theory that was proven, stated and was always there. I am trying not to offend people religiously but this is the way it is. Evolution is how organisms were evolved. There is no reason why not to believe in it. It is like saying do you believe in the Moon. They were just there except one you can see and the other you cannot. Where else do you think that people or many other complex organisms came from. They could not have just burst out of nowhere. In my opinion, I definitely believe in this theory, because no other theory has been proven correct that shows where complex organisms came from.

Gosh, Tiko. Perhaps you should have looked this question up.

The answer is No. I don't "believe" in evolution. Belief is for religions.

However, if you're actually interested in evolution, you'll find the evidence is so vast and persuasive, that it's generally thought of as a Theory.

I believe evolution and creation are a mix theory. There is too much evidence to deny evolution but faith tells us another story

Yes, because it is extremely evident throughout the animal kingdom. Different variations of animals show that evolution has definitely taken effect through natural selection for the area that the species inhabits.

Its a theory. It has enough evidence to support itself. Until something comes up that reveals evidence contrary to the Theory of Evolution, I'll keep believing it.

Evolution means change over time. It is a fact as much as anything can be. Natural selection as the mechanism is the only valid scientific explanation.

yes. because CONVERGENT and DIVERGENT evolution are proven facts. if you mean to ask if i believe in the theory of evolution in that man decended from apes, i am still out of the border on that one. not because of my religious beliefs (i am a catholic) but because of scientific uncertainty. i suggest you read "Wonderful Life: The Burgess Shale and the Nature of History" by Stephen Jay Gould. that book proves that the current thinking on evolution is flawed based on the fossils found in the burgess shale of colorado.

Yeah, its really not ground breaking,I don't understand what the big argument is, Evolution and Religion can both exist.

Yes - I use the many types of evidence that support evolution:
adaptations of all types, biochemical evidence, and fossil evidence, among others.

Also, I try to keep in mind that thinking like a scientist requires that I examine new evidence and adjust my thinking according to knowledge that we have at a given time.
