Can this happen?

Okay, so, I've had 4 blood tests now. 3 that say yes or no (qualitative), and 1 that gives exact numbers of HCG in your blood (quantitative) the last 1 done the this past fri-all neg, the quant coming back <1 @ what would have been 3 mths .I know it sounds stupid, but I still feel like I could be pregnant.I would have conceived on July 4 or 5, making me what? 4-4 1/2 months along? Is it possible to have a blood test come back negative for HCG that far along, or am I just being paranoid? I have had a withdrawal period every month because I'm on the pill and my doc said to keep taking them until I get a pos blood test or miss my period. Also, I've heard that when you're pregnant that your cervix is soft and slightly open. Sorry if it's TMI but I checked the last 2 days and mine is soft and slightly open and higher now. I even have the flutter movement in my lower stomach! Could something like this happen? A woman is 4 months preg and no test shows up positive? I need more answers. Help!!

I don't think it is possible to maintain a pregnancy with a <1 HCG level, especially into the 2nd trimester. Also, your cervix will soften and open up when you are ovulating anyways, so that alone does not mean anything. Please do not take this the wrong way, but sometimes when women REALLY want to be pregnant, they can convince themselves that they are, complete with the fluttering feelings and increased uterus size. At 4 months, you would be 16 weeks, which would be long enough to do an ultrasound. They would be able to clearly see the baby. Suggest an ultrasound. There is even the slight chance that you have a cyst on your ovary or a polyp in your uterus, which can make your body do weird things. An ultrasound could also detect that, if they were looking for it. If your doctor refuses to do an ultrasound, find a different doctor and get a second opinion. It just doesn't seem like you could be pregnant given your HCG tests, but it seems like something is going on, and you should get it figured out. Heck, I could be wrong. Strange things are known to happen when it comes to pregnancy.

Hmmm -- you say you've had 4 test that all say negative (including a quantitative that says <1 hCG) and you have had a period every month because YOU ARE ON THE PILL. Uh - YOU ARE *NOT* PREGNANT.
