I don't have an opinion about them. As for MY "starring habits"- If I've starred questions that I haven't answered, they have been so few and so long ago that I can't even remember. I like to answer the questions that I star. I can't even say that there's a particular reason other than, I guess you could say, that I'm preventing a pet peeve (knowing that I'll annoy myself if I don't answer, so therefore I answer).
As I said, I don't have an opinion. People have different reasons for starring questions, and I'm sure they have plenty of reasons for doing so without answering: Perhaps they don't know of a good answer but star the question in hopes that one of their contacts might be able to help. Or maybe they have an answer but think that one of their contacts will make an answer more understandable. Another possibility is that they have been asked to star the question for some reason. Who knows? There are several possibilities. And I don't mind the starring.... After all, it isn't as though we're forced to look over all the starred questions.
I can't remember whether or not you're one of my contacts... But, if you are, you can rest assured that I don't mind your "starring habits". ☺

I don't have an opinion on it. I feel they have their own personal reasons for starring it (maybe being able to find it easier, when they want to see the updated answers) & it's thier right & their business.

I don't think that anyone should feel obligated to answer a question just because they find the question interesting. Sometimes you simply don't have an answer but you find the question worth value and one that might stimulate conversation.

I'm in two minds. Half of me can't see why anyone would care, and the other half thinks they're worse than Hitler.

Well ..there is an old phrase rather besafe than sorry. Some day I wonder if I should keep my big mouth shut.

It doesn't bother me. Maybe they couldn't think of an answer.
