as long as there are no risk factors most doctors will let you go up to two weeks past your due date. A due date is really just an estimated date based on LMP it could be off if you miss calculated or if you ovulated late no need to worry. Sleep now because soon you wont be able too. good luck

The due date is an average of when babies typically arrive. Babies can be born full term and 'on time' anytime between 37 weeks and 42 weeks of pregnancy. The doctor will let you know if a risk develops. Mommy and baby have checked out OK so far...so relax. :) You'll meet your baby soon.

The date of conception is averaged on the date of her last menstral cycle, but you dont ovualate until about a week or more later it depends on the womens periods. So dont be alarmed if the baby looks good and your wife is fine then all is okay. You can add or subtract a week for due dates because they are never accurate.

They have to guess the due date by last period, etc.....don't worry!!! My oldest was born a month late (perfectly healthy - due date off) and my youngest a month early (complications). The baby will come when the baby is READY. Don't worry -- doctors won't allow her to go too long -- they will induce labor, if necessary. It's okay. Baby due yesterday? No big deal except you all are anxious. GOOD LUCK -- YOU'LL FALL IN LOVE ALL OVER AGAIN!!!! (WITH THE BABY)

due dates can vary i am 5 months pregnant and when i get a sonogram due it changes all the time. but in this case she can be in labor for a day or 4 days you will never know. basecially what im saying is yes its possible for the baby to be late. if everything is fine then theres nothing to worry about. by the way what are you having? and whats the name?
Good luck:)

The baby should be fine. Theres not a risk in delaying it, unless it goes over 2 weeks, when the placenta starts to break down and no longer work - resulting in "starvation" for the child and no oxygen. (Not to scare you - this occurs only after 42 weeks). Sounds like the doctor is going to let her go to 41 weeks. Your baby should be fine. :)

Relax. The doctor is keeping an eye on your wife and baby.

My daughter was 10 days late with two of her children and 8 days late with the third.

I was two weeks late with both of my pregnancies.
