Alright I am a girl and i'm 16. Ever since I could remember, well like in grade 5 to grade 7 i've worn guys clothes.. then I tried girls clothes but I just don't feel comfortable in them at all. I'm self concious yes a little bit. I think it has to do with being bullied in junior high. Well I liked girl jeans these past like two years and i always used to wear sweaters, but now I wear like band t-shirts (guys) and zip-up guys hoodies. in a way i'm sortof punk but I don't like girls jeans anymore but am to afraid to buy guys pants, as I think people will think i'm dressing to much like a guy. I have lots of friends that don't care but i don't know.. Ever since this school year started i've just been wearing like track pants (rbk, nike)If anyone could help me in what i should wear for pants and whatnot and if anyone has like anything to say that could make me not so concious on what i wear that would be great.Sorry for the long question its m first one and i dont really kno wat to say.

Aside from the hip sizes, there isn't a whole lot of difference between men's and women's jeans and such. I don't think most people would give it a second thought. But even if they do, it won't be remarked upon. Give up the track pants. Buy yourself some 501's and a nice Oxford shirt with a button-down collar, and a plain belt that matches your shoes. Black, preferably. Or treat yourself to a nice wool blazer to top it off with, if you're on a date. People like yourself who wear clothes not ordinarily worn by their peers are more apt to be thought of as trend setters and chic. I'll bet you any money that, if you do it with style and flair and wear them proudly, others will emulate you and copy your style. That is how new fashion trends are made. You might be on the cover of Vogue!

well in a way i'm like u. i've been wearing guy clothing ever since elementary school.(i feel more comfortable this way) and until this day because i do not wear make up and wear guy clothing, people think i'm a lesbian. as far as guys approaching me, they still do; a whole lot. real fine ones too. i found out a lot of guys actually love women who can be themselves and who are real without dressing up all the time. they know how the woman looks on the regular. some guys told me that they meet the woman who wore all kind of make up and whatever, chill w/her, but as soon as the make up, fake hair, fake eyelashes and all that stuff came off, they were surprised to see a complete different woman; scarey stuff they said. men can be real around a woman who is real with herself. my advice to you is be real with yourself. people r going to find something wrong w/u even when there is nothing wrong w/u.

always be yourself, your not hurting anyone ^_^ and I'm sure plenty of guys will like you the way you are! I'm absolutely positive of it... as far as being less self concious... that part can be hard, but you shouldn't have to feel guilt about what you wear or what you like... you should be comfortable being yourself, and if anyone tells you different, they are the ones with a problem. I find it utterly ridiculous that a girl and boy can wear the same clothes, and one be found refined and the other tacky, but unfortunately people are stuck on such things.

I like to wear lingerie sometimes, so i don't think anything bad of what you do. You'll meet a guy who feels the same way... There's plenty of clothes that are not gender-specific, go with those first.
PS Keep the questions coming, you're doing fine.

Wear what you like at the time, and don't be afraid to try different kinds out. You're 16 - your style isn't set in stone yet!
Be casual when you need to, dress up when you need to. Rule of thumb: if it doesn't drive your parents, or your school insane, you haven't gone too far.

I honestly can't see what your problem is.
Women have worn mens clothing (granted, with a hell of a lot more style than men) for hundreds of years.

Now, if you were a 16 yr old boy wanting to wear a dress and make-up to school....

There are plenty of guys who like to wear girl's clothes, so you shouldn't feel bad or like you're doing something wrong just because you like to wear guy's clothes.

That's okay because most guys like women who wear men's clothes.
