well they did install two of them, any problems other than it's colder than last winter(i"m in MN)

the only reason would be if you expressed that you intend to insulate and heat, you would also need soffet vents to make the vents work, if you do intend on heat someday, they can still be easily installed. You are good -to-go either way.

I have never seen this done in a garage unless there's a special request as in storage for heat problems in an attic that was put in.

Not necessary since the garage is not considered a living space and adequate ventilation is provided when the door(s) is/are up.

NO USUALLY ROOF VENTING IS FOR ATTIC
VENTALATION. NOT IN LESS YOU HAVE A THIRD FLOOR GARAGE LOL
