I'm friends with a straight couple who have a French bulldog that snarls and barks whenever my partner and I visit, and my friend tells me the dog only does that to his friends that are gay. He says that the dog does it to only one guy that's straight, but everyone thinks he's a closet case anyway. It's so weird. I've been at parties at their house and straight people will arrive and the dog wags his tail and rolls over for tummy rubs, but as soon as someone gay arrives, he barks and barks and growls.

Can a dog smell or sense if someone is gay? Can a dog be homophobic?

Just gay men or lesbians too? It could be the 'mones that two men in love exude.

I forget the technical term, but it's one of those things special educated people are looking into; the different types of scents we release that allow people to be attracted to us and us to be attracted to other people.

The Pharamones Answer may be a thought but most canine adittudes are learned traits. clearly you freind has gay freinds. Are they the dogs first owner it could be a learned trait from a previous owner or it could be the pharamones. or mayby he has a problem with snappy dressers?

Tell you friends to take him to one of those dog phycics. it may be good for a lauph. but if they tried they could probably train him to change his rude behavior.

Hee hee. A dog that sounds the alarm when it smells those magic gay pheromones. If being gay were a crime, he'd have quite a career with the FBI.

Dog's usually reflect their owner's feelings. Even if their owners don't. Canines are very intuitive to their owner's slight reactions and hormones.

Your friends are probably they homophobic ones.
