I am cleaning my house like crazy because my husband comes home from Iraq on Wednesday...I was cleaning out our medicine cabinet and found a bunch of expired meds...what should I do with them? Get my toilet high and dump them in there?

flushing them is the best way, because that water goes to treatment plants, where it is filtered over and over again so there is no possibilty of harm to anyone

Yes, get your toilet high. I'm a nurse and was told when I went to nursing school to flush expired meds down the toilet. This way no one can take them and get sick.

i dump mine in the toilet - might not be good for the environment & water supply but at least i don't have stoned raccoons running around after getting in my trash.

EDIT: funny enough, i just saw this article this morning on msn about this very thing. it seems we should be mixing certain meds with used cat litter then tossing it in trash. yeah, that's so gross even the worst junkie would pass it up...

put them in a small bag, close it, and put it in a bigger bag so they dont fall out and throw them in the trash
