It's a pretty dumb suggestion, but then most people think I'm an idiot when I said Bo Jackson was the best I'd ever seen, simply because his career was so short.

By the way, I quit saying that during Adrian Peterson's freshman year at Oklahoma, because I wasn't sure anymore.

One more thing--anyone that says championships are a part of being the best ever is a moron--the kind of moron that argues that Favre is the best ever since the Packers won a Super Bowl, but doesn't like thinking about the fact that they won that game because Desmond Howard played one of the best games anyone's ever played.

Some are saying he's the best back this year. Watch the video in this article:

I KNOW it's mature but I think he'll one day be considered one of the best. Someone mentioned Emmitt Smith in their post. At this point I would take Adrian Peterson aka "ALL DAY" any day over Emmitt.

Best what? The kid hasn't played half a season & you're going to say he's better than Jimmy Brown, Gale Sayers, Barry Sanders, Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton, Tony Dorsett, Earl Campbell, Franco Harris,Larry Csonka, & about a thousand others? Man are you easily impressed! This kid hasn't proved a thing yet.

Right now, I think hes definitely either no.1 or no. 2 in the league at RBs playing at the moment. Who else is there really right now? Only LT, Westbrook, Addai, and Parker are really all that impressive. Frank Gore, Steven Jackson, and LJ are all injured.
Among, all the RBs right now, AD is one of the best solid runners in the NFL.

After 8 games we are going to crown him the best of all time? I think we need a reality check here.

As of this moment he is a great, young talent, but there are many factors into becoming the greatest ever to play...longevity, championships, staying injury free...

For now, Payton, Smith and Sanders are the best ever to play RB.

This kid is a rookie and so far hes incredible! Lets just wait and see what he produces the next few years. Hopefully he can get the Vikings back in the playoffs! I've always liked them. :)

Yes...half way through his rookie year I would say it is most definately appropriate to call him the best ever of all time. I will get back to you after about 10 more years...hope he does great...and he is amazing not doubt...but of all time?...little early to call that one I am afraid.

He is impressive. But doesn't have the credentials to be the best of all time yet. Give him some years.
